Aftercare

• Remove the bandage in 2-4 hours or once you are to an appropriate place to properly clean your new tattoo.

• Wash your tattoo with HOT water and a liquid anti-bacterial soap. For the initial washing, your tattoo should feel smooth when it has been washed properly. If it feels rough or bumpy it is because the dried blood, plasma, and pigment were not washed off thoroughly.

• Lightly pat dry with a clean paper towel.

• Apply a THIN layer of Aquaphor or Vaseline. Rebandage with a NEW piece of plastic wrap and tape securely.

• For the first two days, wash your tattoo with HOT water and anti-bacterial soap every 4-6 hours and re-wrapping throughout the day and before going to bed and first thing in the morning. This may feel uncomfortable but it is necessary in helping your tattoo to heal properly.

• Continue this process every 4-6 hours for the next few days without wrapping until your tattoo starts flaking and peeling.

• When the tattoo begins to be flaky and starts peeling, do not allow direct contact with water aside from washing. No submerging in water, swimming, saunas, bubble baths, etc. Keep showers short to limit the amount of moisture your tattoo comes into contact with.

• Once the flaking and peeling is completely finished and there is NO apparent scabbing, you may use a mild, unscented, white lotion to moisturize your tattoo.

• If scabbing does occur, DO NOT pick or scratch at it.

• Do not exercise or sweat excessively until your tattoo is fully healed.

• Once your tattoo is fully healed, use sunblock regularly.
